An oak framed building is a living organic structure which, in most cases, will far outlast its owner. For hundreds of years oak has been at the very heart of some of the UK’s finest buildings. Its timeless, tactile qualities and phenomenal strength enable the creation of buildings with fabulous, open living spaces which can truly be said to have both beauty and soul.

Oak is a slow growing hard wood with exceptional qualities. In the case of green oak frames, joints tighten as the wood dries, which in turn further strengthens the frame. The result is a structure far stronger and longer lasting than other building methods. A fact testified by the large number of surviving oak framed buildings which are many centuries old.
